France's main means-tested student grant, paid by the Crous: €1,454 to €6,335 per year across échelons 0bis–7, in 10 monthly installments, with tuition-fee and CVEC exemption on top.

900 € pro Monat
An extra €900 a year (9 monthly installments of €100) for grant holders who earned mention Très bien at the bac — granted automatically with your DSE, for up to three years.

The Crous safety net: a one-off emergency aid of up to €3,071 (max €6,142 per year) for sudden hardship, or an annual allocation of €1,454–€6,335 for students outside the bourse system.

A one-off €1,000 for grant holders who move to another région académique for their first year of master's right after finishing their licence — granted automatically since 2025/26.
International mobility aid (AMI)· Aide à la mobilité internationale (AMI)
400 € pro Monat
€400 per month for grant holders studying or interning abroad as part of their French degree — 1 to 10 months, stackable with Erasmus+ and the merit aid.
Housing aid (APL / ALS)· Aides au logement de la Caf (APL / ALS)
Monthly rent support from the Caf that only counts the student's own income — APL for conventioned housing (incl. Crous residences), ALS otherwise; amount depends on rent, city and resources.
Visale rent guarantee (and Loca-Pass deposit advance)· Garantie Visale (et Avance Loca-Pass)
Action Logement's free rent guarantee for 18–30-year-olds: no personal guarantor needed, up to 36 months of unpaid rent covered — student rent ceilings up to €1,000/month in Île-de-France.

bis zu 20.000 € einmalig
Borrow up to €20,000 with no means test and no parental guarantee: the State guarantees 70% via Bpifrance at partner banks, and repayment can be deferred until after your studies.
€1 Crous meal· Repas Crous à 1 €
A full meal for €1 in Crous university restaurants — reserved for scholarship and hardship students during 2025/26, extended to every student from 4 May 2026 (social rate: €3.30).
CVEC exemption for scholarship holders· Exonération de la CVEC pour les boursiers
Scholarship holders skip the €105 student-life contribution (CVEC) each year — the exemption certificate is issued instantly online, and those who already paid can claim a refund.
Erasmus+ mobility grant· Erasmus+
300 € – 700 € pro Monat
€300–700 per month for a study or traineeship period elsewhere in Europe, arranged through your home institution — plus a €250 monthly top-up for students with fewer opportunities.
SNCF youth discount card (Carte Avantage Jeune)· Carte Avantage Jeune (SNCF)
For €49 a year, 12–27-year-olds get a guaranteed 30% off TGV INOUI and Intercités all year, in 1st and 2nd class, with fares capped at €49/€69/€89 by trip length.

Unlimited travel on all Île-de-France public transport (zones 1–5) for students under 26: €392.30 for 2025/26, payable in 9 monthly installments.
