The NEAE aid funds the extra costs of studying with specific support needs, from school levels through vocational training (FP básica, grado medio and grado superior). The 2025/26 call — around 220,000 expected beneficiaries — pays per-component amounts: up to €862 for direct teaching support, €617 inter-urban transport, €574 school meals, €1,795 residence, €913 each for pedagogical and language re-education therapy, €913 for high-abilities programs, plus a fixed €400 family subsidy. Most components are income-tested against the becas thresholds.

- Certified specific support need: a disability of 25% or more (criterion introduced in 2025/26), autism-spectrum disorder, ADHD, a severe conduct, communication or language disorder, or high intellectual abilities
- Enrolled at a school or vocational level covered by the call — including FP básica, grado medio and grado superior
- Family income within the call's thresholds for the income-tested components
