When the free Renfe passes of 2022–2025 ended on 30 June 2025, a tiered discount scheme took over, extended for all of 2026 by Royal Decree-law 17/2025. Young people aged 15–26 get the unified monthly Cercanías pass for €10 (general price €20) and 50% off Media Distancia monthly passes; children under 15 travel free on state services; everyone gets 40% off 10-trip Cercanías and Media Distancia tickets and 50% off Avant multi-trip titles. Since 19 January 2026 the new national Abono Único bundles unlimited Cercanías, Media Distancia and state buses for €30 per month under 26 (€60 general).

- Youth tier for those aged roughly 15–26 (born 2000–2011 for 2026); free travel for children under 15
- No student status required — the discounts are age-based and apply automatically to the pass price
