Youth rental bonus (Bono Alquiler Joven)

Created by Royal Decree 42/2022, the Bono Alquiler Joven pays €250 per month for up to 24 months to young tenants — including students with an income source — renting a dwelling of up to €600/month (extendable to €900 by region) or a room up to €300 (€450). The comunidades autónomas run the application windows, and most exhausted their 2022-2025 funds; the last classic windows are regional (e.g. Catalonia closed 10 July 2026, Extremadura opens 15 July 2026). Its successor is already law: the Plan Estatal de Vivienda 2026-2030 (RD 326/2026) raises youth rental aid to up to €300 per month for up to four years, with regional calls rolling out from the second half of 2026.

Qui y a droit

Aged 18 to 35 at application, with legal residence in Spain
A regular income source (work contract, or the aid combined with study-compatible work), with household income below 3× IPREM
Rent within the caps: dwelling ≤€600/month (up to €900 where the region allows), room ≤€300 (up to €450)
Applications run through your comunidad autónoma's housing department when a window is open

Apply at your region's housing office when it opens a convocatoria — availability currently varies by region while the 2026-2030 plan's new aid is rolled out.
