The aanvullende beurs tops up the basic grant based on parental income. DUO checks your parents' income automatically when you apply — many students who qualify never apply, so always tick the box.
Who qualifies
- Same base conditions as the basisbeurs
- Joint parental income (2024) below ≈ €46,305 for the full grant; partial grant up to ≈ €63,965
- Special arrangements if parents are unreachable or refuse to contribute
How to apply
Request it inside the same Mijn DUO application as your basisbeurs; DUO retrieves your parents' income from the tax office.
