Deutschlandstipendium
Administered by Bundesministerium für Bildung, Familie, Senioren, Frauen und Jugend
The Deutschlandstipendium rewards academic merit and personal engagement, independent of income and nationality. Universities select their scholars and every €150 of private sponsorship is matched by €150 of federal money. It runs for at least two semesters, is renewable, and is not counted against BAföG.
Who qualifies
- Enrolled at a participating German university
- Convincing academic record plus social or personal engagement
- Any nationality, no age limit
- Cannot be combined with a Begabtenförderungswerk scholarship
How to apply
Apply directly through your own university's portal — each institution runs its own application window.
Deadlines: Application windows differ per university — e.g. Freiburg 1–31 March, Erfurt 29 June–9 August
