Housing complement (bolsa holders)
Complemento de Alojamento ·Zuständig Direção-Geral do Ensino Superior
Displaced bolsa holders — students living away from home to study — get their housing covered on top of the grant. In a SAS residence the fee is capped at 17.5% of IAS (€91.44/month in 2025/26) and fully offset, making the room effectively free. Renting privately (only when no residence place is available, with receipts required) is supported up to per-municipality caps of 75–95% of IAS — €496.38 in Lisboa, Cascais, Oeiras, Porto and Sintra, €444.13 in cities like Braga, Coimbra and Faro, €391.88 elsewhere. Private-rental recipients also get the €50/month travel support (apoio à deslocação, max €400/year, Lei 8/2025).
