Verano Joven summer transport discounts

Verano Joven is the state's annual summer programme (editions since 2023) that slashes transport prices for young people travelling through Spain and Europe. The 2026 edition gives 90% off conventional Media Distancia and ancho métrico trains and state-run bus lines, 50% off Avant services, 50% (capped at €30 per ticket) off high-speed and long-distance trains of all operators — AVE, Avlo, Ouigo and iryo — and 50% off the Interrail Global Pass (10 days in 2 months) sold through Renfe.
Who qualifies
- Aged 18 to 30 — for 2026, born between 1 January 1996 and 31 December 2008
- Spanish nationality or legal residence in Spain
- Free registration at veranojoven.transportes.gob.es at least 24 hours before the first purchase; you receive a personal, non-transferable code
How to apply
Register for free at veranojoven.transportes.gob.es, get your personal code and use it when buying tickets on the operators' websites. Discounted travel runs from 1 July to 30 September 2026.
