Deutschlandsemesterticket

Administered by Verkehrsverbünde und Hochschulen

The Deutschlandsemesterticket brings the nationwide Deutschlandticket into the solidarity model of the classic semester ticket: every enrolled student pays it through the semester fee and in return rides all local and regional public transport across Germany. In 2026 that is €37.80 per month (€226.80 per semester) — pegged at 60% of the regular €63 ticket. Nationality plays no role.

Who qualifies

  • Enrolled at a university whose student body participates in the scheme
  • Charged via the semester fee for everyone — solidarity model
  • Valid nationwide on local and regional transport, not on long-distance trains (ICE/IC)

How to apply

Nothing separate to apply for — it comes with enrollment or re-registration; your university tells you where to retrieve the ticket.
